June quarter 2025

The June quarter 2025 results mark the second release for DoTS overnight trips, and the first release for DoTS daytrips and outbound trips.

The DoTS results provide data on how Australian residents travel within Australia. You can find national, state and territory results for the:

  • number of trips taken
  • nights spent on a trip
  • amount spent on a trip.

Unless we say otherwise, we compared the summary results for the June quarter 2025 to the June quarter 2024.

Note: June Quarter 2024 results are backcast and adjusted to account for differences in methodology between the National Visitor Survey (NVS) and the new Domestic Tourism Statistics which came into effect January 2025. Caution should be used when interpreting comparisons to the backcast data.
