An Assessment of Accessible Accommodation in Australia: Supply and Demand
Release: 18 Nov 2013
This report is the result of research to investigate issues relating to the long term supply and demand for accessible accommodation in Australia. In 2011, federal and state Tourism Ministers decided to investigate whether accessible room requirements for new buildings under Class 2 and Class 3 of the Building Code of Australia constituted a barrier to new accommodation. PricewaterhouseCoopers was subsequently commissioned to undertake the study. The report is published here on the TRA website due to its research component. As part of the study, tables summarising the results of the surveys conducted among travellers and accommodation providers are available upon request to ASCOT-TMM@ret.gov.au.
