TOURISM BUSINESSES IN AUSTRALIA, JUNE 2011 TO JUNE 2015

Australia’s tourism industry comprised around 273,500 businesses in the year ending June 2015, which represented over 13% of Australia’s total 2.1 million businesses.

Australia’s tourism investment pipeline has reached $59.8 billion, supported by continued investor appetite for our tourism infrastructure investment projects.

NATIONAL VISITOR SURVEY (NVS) RESULTS

NVS results show:

• nights increased 5% to 327 million

• overnight trips increased 8% to 88.5 million

• trip spend increased 5% to $58.3 billion.
